Did you know honeybees are dying at alarming rates? An article in the Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC), reported that 42% of the honeybee colonies collapsed in the U.S alone in 2015.
The dying honeybees will have serious consequence on our food supple. According to NRCDC, "One out of every three mouthfuls of food in the American diet is, in some way, a product of honeybee pollination - from fruit to nuts to coffee beans." Jennifer Sass, an NRDC Senior Scientist, stated there are multiple factors at play: pesticides, loss of habitat, climate change and disease. We can all do our part to save the honeybees by using less pesticides or no pesticides, plant pesticide-free plants, grow a vegetable garden or a flower garden native to the bees, buy organic when possible and don't kill the bees. If you are having a problem with bees around your home, call a beekeeper who will remove them safely. Watch this YouTube video for more information.
