Memorial Day Remembrance

Memorial Day is a day to remember our service members who sacrificed their lives for our Freedom.  Memorial Day started right after the Civil War.  Fallen soldiers were honored, on May 30th, because flowers were in bloom. Families would go to the grave sites and place flowers on the soldiers' graves.  Memorial Day became a National Holiday in 1971 and moved to the last Monday in May.
